Having studied Interior Design at Middlesex University, I worked as a set designer at London Weekend Television for many years before going freelance. During this time I designed sets, exhibitions, events and interiors. I went on to teach Art in secondary education for fifteen years before painting full time in my studio.
The surrounding natural environment constantly inspires me. I love to paint landscapes through the seasons, exploring changing colours and light patterns. Views of trees from my studio are a source of fascination as is the countryside of Kent and Sussex where I love to walk.
I paint mainly in oils but also enjoy using a range of print techniques and other media. Recently my work has become less representational as I explore ideas that emerge from initial sketches of landscapes and close up details of rock formations.
